The Music · The Power of Voice

The Music

Soul. Jazz. R&B. Gospel. Storytelling through every note.

The vocalist · The story

Born in Chicago. Rooted in song.

Growing up on Chicago’s South Side, Amanda Raquel began singing in her church choir before immersing herself in jazz, opera, soul, and songwriting. An early studio experience writing songs for a producer helped her recognize music as more than a gift—it was a calling.

Music runs through her family. Her great-uncle Marion Kay was among the first African American tenors to perform with the Civic Opera, and her father is a choir director and vocalist.
